Manoj Saxena

Managing Director Bayer Zydus Pharma and South Asia Head

Mr. Manoj Saxena serves as the Managing Director for Bayer Zydus Pharma Pvt. Ltd. as well as Cluster Head - Pharmaceuticals for the diverse cluster of South Asia. Mr. Saxena is also one of the EC Members in the Organization of Pharmaceutical Producers in India (OPPI) which is the leading industry association in healthcare.Mr. Saxena has been a part of the Asia Pacific Leadership Team and contributes on various regional & country specific strategies. With a deep understanding of the healthcare industry in different geographies and market, he has broad experience across functions, and has headed senior roles in sales & marketing functions, business analysis and general management. Before his current role, Mr. Saxena was the Managing Director for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei (2015-2017) and Country Head for Bayer Pharmaceuticals Vietnam (2013-2015). He was also a Board Member (Vice Chair) at Pharma Group Vietnam and Singapore Association (SAPI) key industry associations for the pharmaceutical industry.

Mr. Saxena started his career in the pharmaceutical industry with Cipla in 1997. In 2009, he moved to Bayer Pharmaceuticals as Business Unit Head for General Medicine and Women’s Health Care for increasing the footprint of Bayer Pharma in India. He was also an active member of Industry Association (OPPI) and Bayer Leadership Team in India. He actively worked on the Joint Venture Project in 2011 with Zydus Cadila to form Bayer Zydus Pharma in India.Mr. Manoj Saxena graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from the Banaras Hindu University, India, as well as a Master’s in Business Administration.

Sanjiv Navangul

Mr. Sanjiv Navangul was appointed the Managing Director of Janssen India in August 1, 2013. In addition to his current responsibilities, he also handles the South Asian markets of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Prior to joining Janssen India, Mr. Navangul was the Managing Director of MSD, Philippines. He has over 25 years of experience in Pharmaceutical industry which spans various geographies across Europe, Asia and India with experience in varied business functions such as sales, marketing, supply chain, finance, strategy and general management.

Mr. Sanjiv Navangul is active in Healthcare Policy in India and is Vice President – Organisation of Pharmaceuticals Producers of India (OPPI - representative body of the MNCs in the pharmaceutical sector) and is also the Chairman of the Medical & Regulatory Work Group –OPPI. Currently he is also the Chairman- American Chambers of Commerce (AMCHAM) – Pharmaceutical Committee. Mr. Navangul was adjudged the winner of OPPI Marketing Excellence Award for 3 years in a row for New Product Launches in India and is also credited with spearheading the well-known Industry first initiatives and innovative Disease Management Programs.

He is based in Mumbai with his wife and two children and enjoys reading and teaching. Mr. Sanjiv Navangul holds a Degree in Pharmacy and a Masters Degree in Business Administration and he has been a part of one year Executive Management Program at Harvard.

Sujay Shetty

Mr. Sujay Shetty leads PwC India’s Health Industries and Asia Pacific’ PLS Industries. He is based out of Mumbai, India. Mr. Shetty’s role involves assisting Health Industries clients with respect to Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions, Operations and Regulatory Issues. He has over 25 years of industry experience in the Pharmaceutical & Medical Devices industry in India, UK & South East Asia. He has led four international companies at the board level (three of which were in the Pharma/Medical device industry) including two start-ups where he was responsible for leading senior management teams, creating and executing corporate strategy. Mr. Shetty is a member of the Vision group for Biotechnology for the state of Karnataka. He is also a regular speaker at industry forums and has been quoted extensively in national and international media on Indian pharmaceutical industry affairs. Prior to joining PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Shetty was working with the Corporate Finance practices of UK investment bank Lazard Brothers in London & UB group, Dubai. Mr. Sujay Shetty is a Chartered Accountant, holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, two masters degrees in Law and Finance from the London School of Economics and executive education from Harvard Business School.

Dr. Ranjana Pathak leads Cipla’s Worldwide Quality enterprise throughout the product's lifecycle from development to commercialization, through institutionalization of robust quality processes, systems and policies across own as well as LL/P2P manufacturing sites in order to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory agencies while consistently ensuring the highest quality and reliability in all of Cipla's products.

Dr. Pathak has over three decades of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in the USA, held senior leadership positions with increasing responsibilities in various organizations. She worked for branded and generic companies such as Watson/Actavis, Endo/Dupont Pharmaceuticals, Zenith Goldline, Thames Pharmacal, with extensive experience in dealing with regulatory bodies such as FDA, MHRA, ANVISA, MCC, WHO, to name a few. Dr. Pathak has served as the Sr. Vice President of Global Quality for Watson/Actavis Pharmaceuticals and was responsible for world-wide quality. Prior to Watson/Actavis, Dr. Pathak worked as Vice President of Quality and Compliance at Endo Pharmaceuticals.

Dr. Pathak holds a Doctorate in Health Administration from the University of Phoenix, USA.; MBA from Dowling College, New York; Post Graduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical & Chemical Analysis from Sophia College; Bachelors of Science (Honors) in Chemistry, leadership course in Pharmaceutical and Biologics from Harvard University. She has been published a few times, taught/lectured in many pharmaceutical courses/seminars on various topics (validation, PQR/APR, Compliance issues etc.).

Ms. Camilla Hartvig joined earlier this year as President, Europe and Emerging Markets, Member of the Executive Leadership Team and Head of Region Europe & Emerging Markets, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals. She is a member of the executive team and head of the region serving Europe, Latin America, Russia/CIS and South East Asia.

Before joining Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Ms. Hartvig worked for Allergan Inc. as Regional President and for AstraZeneca where she amongst other roles was Country President of AZ Spain and Head of Global Marketing. Ms. Hartvig has also spent several years with Novartis leading BUs and sales teams in both Denmark and the U.K. She started her career as a medical representative.

Ms. Hartvig previously served as VP on the Pharma industry board in Spain and is now a board member of C-worldwide, a Danish investment fund.

She holds master degrees from Copenhagen Business School (CBS) in Denmark and Ecole des Hautes Etude Commerciale (HEC), París, France. To further educate herself Ms. Hartvig has also taken an advertisement agency education by IAA, an executive board education at INSEAD and latest she is a graduate of GiANT Worldwide's Xcore leadership thinking (Liberating Leadership).

Ms. Hartvig is married to Thomas and together they have 4 kids between the age of 10-17. The family has in connection with Ms. Hartvig’s progressing career lived together in Copenhagen, London, Brussels, Madrid and Stockholm, while she has also lived 3 years in Paris. Her husband supports her fully in her career and is therefore the one at home and in charge of the family.

Namita Thapar

Mrs. Namita Thapar is a Chartered Accountant from ICAI and MBA from the Fuqua School of Business. She is currently the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Board Member at Emcure Pharmaceuticals-a global pharmaceutical company headquartered in Pune with a turnover of over 4000 crores. It has presence in over 60 countries and an employee strength of over 10,000.

Prior to joining Emcure, Mrs. Thapar has worked overseas for 6 years in various roles including finance and marketing at Guidant Corporation (now Abbott - Stent business). Since joining Emcure in 2007, she manages multifunctional portfolios like Finance, Domestic Marketing and HR. She manages the pan India operations of over 3000 medical representatives contributing to over 1000 crores in sales.

In addition, Mrs. Thapar is on the board of Finolex Cables as well as on the board of the Fuqua School of Business (Duke University). She is also the founder and CEO of Incredible Ventures Ltd, an education company that teaches entrepreneurship to 11 -18 year olds in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

Mrs. Thapar is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization, Pune. and a recipient of the prestigious Economic Times ‘40 under Forty’ award. She is a part of the ‘Champions of Change’ program initiated by PM Narendra Modi for G2B partnership in policymaking. Mrs. Namita Thapar is married to Vik Thapar and they have two beautiful children.

Ms. Batra anchors and produces shows such as ’Power Breakfast’ and ‘Markets & Macros’. She also handles fundamental research on macroeconomics, banks, NBFCs, pharmaceuticals and healthcare sectors. Ms. Batra holds a Masters Degree in Business Management from University of Warwick, England and a Bachelors Degree (with Honors) in Business and Communication from Ithaca College, New York. Prior to working with CNBC-TV18, Ms. Ekta Batra has worked on projects with McKinsey & Company and Bank of America Merrill Lynch as an Investment Associate.
